In late 2009 the Lord led me to create a blog to communicate with prayer supporters before returning to the field for my second term. Since that time it’s been a pleasure being able to write updates about the good, bad, and even ugly experiences so that you can get a complete view of what missions is like.
The goal of http://www.australianmissionary.com is to write short articles of 500 words or less that can be read quickly while you drink a cup of coffee, eat breakfast, or take a break at work. This kind of communication is ideal since most of us don’t have the time to read longer articles, but there is also a need for longer updates that share the whole story (it’s very hard to include everything in less than 500 words).
The desire to take the next step in communication has led to the launch of www.australianmissionary.org, a website that will include longer updates, and more frequent posts with pictures or video. Don’t worry, http://www.australianmissionary.com isn’t dead (I will keep updating it) but from this point every article shared on social media will come from the australianmissionary.org. The only difference will be more detailed posts on the website. In the future I hope to create a new vision for australianmissionary.com that focuses on the Australian culture.
I pray that this next step in communication will help create true relationships with us that can bring Glory to Christ.
